This Privacy Policy explains how WEMLOCK (“WEMLOCK”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), as data controller, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you visit our website, contact us, or play our games, including Donut Hunt.
Information We Collect
- Account and profile data: player name, email address when you choose to create or link an account, authentication identifiers, player ID, support code, and your account preferences.
- Gameplay and cloud-save data: level progress, scores, achievements, quests, inventory, energy, rewards, leaderboard entries, and in-game currency balances.
- Purchase data: product purchased, price and currency, store, transaction identifier, purchase status, and receipt-validation information. Payment card details are handled by the relevant app store and are not provided to WEMLOCK.
- Analytics and technical data: app version, device type, operating system, language, country or approximate location derived from network information, gameplay events, consent choices, diagnostics, crash information, and technical logs. Where applicable, analytics is collected only after consent.
- Advertising data: ad impressions, interactions, reward status, and device or advertising identifiers where permitted by your device settings and applicable law.
- Website and communication data: pages visited, browser and device information, IP address, cookies or similar technologies used by our website providers, and information you include when contacting support or sending feedback.
Please do not send us sensitive personal data.
How and Why We Use Information
- To provide the game, accounts, authentication, cloud save, purchases, leaderboards, daily features, customer support, and other requested services.
- To validate purchases, deliver virtual items, prevent duplicate rewards, detect fraud and abuse, protect accounts, and maintain service security.
- To diagnose errors, monitor performance, understand how our services are used, and improve gameplay and reliability.
- To display and measure advertising and provide rewarded-ad benefits where this feature is available.
- To comply with legal, accounting, tax, app-store, and regulatory obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.
Legal Bases
Where the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or similar laws apply, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract to provide the game, accounts, cloud save, purchases, support, and requested features.
- Consent for analytics, advertising identifiers, or similar processing where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time through the available in-game privacy settings or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
- Legitimate interests in securing, maintaining, debugging, and improving our services, preventing fraud and abuse, and understanding service performance, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligations where we must retain records or respond to lawful requests.
Data Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell personal data. We may share data only as needed with service providers and platforms that help us operate our services, including:
- Unity Technologies for authentication, cloud save, economy and purchase validation, analytics, leaderboards, diagnostics, and advertising services such as LevelPlay.
- Google for Google Play distribution, billing, purchase processing and validation, and platform services.
- Apple for App Store distribution, billing, purchase processing and validation when our games are offered on Apple platforms.
- Website hosting, email, security, analytics, professional advisers, and authorities where required by law.
These providers may process data under their own privacy notices when acting as independent controllers, for example when an app store processes a payment.
Data Retention
Account and cloud-save data is generally kept while your account remains active. Support communications and technical records are retained only for as long as reasonably needed to resolve requests, maintain security, improve reliability, or meet legal obligations. Purchase and transaction records may be retained for the period required by tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and app-store rules. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed, unless continued retention is legally required.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Denmark, the supervisory authority is Datatilsynet.
To exercise a right, contact hello@wemlock.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Account and Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your game account and associated personal data by emailing hello@wemlock.com with the subject “Donut Hunt account deletion request”. Include your player name, player ID or support code if available, but never send your password or payment details.
Deletion is permanent and may remove cloud saves, progress, virtual currency, virtual items, leaderboard data, and access to linked account features. Data that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, payment, or accounting purposes will be isolated and deleted when the applicable retention period ends.
Children
Our services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children below the minimum age at which they may consent to data processing in their country. Children must use the services only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian where required. If you believe a child has provided personal data without the required permission, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
International Transfers
Our providers may process data in countries outside your own, including outside the EEA. Where required, we rely on recognised legal safeguards such as adequacy decisions or approved standard contractual clauses and supplementary safeguards.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services, providers, or legal obligations. We will post the revised policy and update the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request renewed consent.
